Celebratory fire

Here in Iraq, the custom on occasions of celebration is to fire automatic weapons into the air.

Far be it from me to break with local tradition. Here, Don, Dewitt, Jennyjo, and I are celebrating lunch - you might not think that lunch is a big deal, but your mess hall doesn't serve fruit smoothies!

BTW, you might notice that I am taller than Jj, even when standing on a lower step...(click the image to enlarge)

Is that a lieutenant putting rabbit ears on a lieutenant colonel? Looks like a discipline event to me. What do you think, Captain?

The firing of automatic weapons at mealtime is not new. It seems dads have "fired" these weapons often after every meal. It is usually followed by celebratory laughter from the children near the "firing range".

yeah, these LTs are out of control these days...she won't even call me 'sir'...can you believe it?
also, she refuses to allow any automatic weapons fire during mealtimes...no fun.
as for how tall I am, I'm a little bit shorter than UJohn, and a little bit taller than my nose...hope that helps...
